Laurence Hill and the Burley Lawn Estate (54 Acres)
Laurence Hill died on 21st February 1872 and it would appear that his entire Burley Lawn Estate was bequeathed to his youngest son William Henry Hill 1837-1912. He died on 13th October 1912, at Barlanark House in Lanarkshire, and the Estate, comprising 14 lots, was auctioned by Woolley and Wallis on 7th July 1913:
LOT 2 A Very Picturesque Cottage Known as Holly Grove. Built of Burley rock and brick with thatched roof. Occupied in 1913 by Mr Seir at a yearly rental of £5. Late 18th Century cob cottage within an early encroachment. On a 1,000 years lease from 9th March 1773.

LOT 3 A Very Well and Newly-Built Detached House Known as Holly Cot, built of brick with tiled roof. In the occupation of Mr F Jonas, as yearly tenant at the moderate rental of £14 per annum. This lot is sold subject to the right of the owner or occupier of Lot 2 to use the well on this Lot jointly.

LOT 4 A Newly-Built Brick and Tile Shed Pasture and three good oak trees. This is at present held by the Tenant of Candy's Cottage Holding. For the purposes of the sale the rent is apportioned at £1 per annum.
LOT 5 A Valuable Small Holding Known as Candy's. In the occupation of Mrs Taylor, as yearly tenant, at the apportioned rental of £19 7s 6d.

LOT 6 A Brick and Slate Built Cottage Known as Forth Cottage. Forms part of the lands let to Mr H Watts, and is in the occupation of his tenant, Mrs Roberts. The rent is apportioned at £11 per annum.
LOT 7 A Brick and Tile Built Cottage In the occupation of Mr King as subtenant. Let with other lands to Mr H Watts at an apportioned rent of £12 10s per annum.
LOT 8 Pasture Field Let to Mr H Watts at a rent of £4 10s 0d. This lot possesses one or several Building Sites.
LOT 10 A Productive Pasture Field Let to Mr H Watts at an apportioned rental of £8 per annum.
LOT 11 A Sound and Productive Pasture Field Let with other lands to Mr H Watts at an apportioned rental of £13 per annum. This lot possesses a very choice building site.
LOT 12 A Valuable Pasture Field Let with other lands to Mr H Watts at an apportioned rental of £9 per annum.
LOT 13 A Sound and Productive Arable Field Let with other lands to Mr H Watts at an apportioned rent of £8 per annum.
LOT 14 A Very Valuable Freehold Forest Farm Known as North and South Farm. In the occupation of Mr H Watts as a yearly tenant at the apportioned rent of £52 2s 0d per annum.
The total annual rental income for these 14 lots was £186 9s 6d in 1913, this would equate to approximately £25,500 in 2022.
