HMS Burley (1954-1959)
HMS Burley (M2008) was a Ley Class Minesweeper, built by Dorset Yacht Co, launched on 29th June 1954, and named after Burley village.
The Ley Class was a class of eleven inshore minehunters built for the Royal Navy in the 1950's specifically configured for working in shallow waters. They were later disarmed and used as training vessels or tenders.
She was renamed HMS Squirrel in December 1959 and sold in January 1968.
